NEW CHAPTER FOR HECKINGTON PAVILION AND PLAYING FIELDS
Heckington Parish Council and Heckington Pavilion & Playing Fields Charitable Incorporated Organisation (CIO) are delighted to confirm that they have reached a new long-term agreement for the future management of the pavilion and playing fields.
The CIO is an independent registered charity established to protect and develop these important facilities for the benefit of the whole community. The agreement will provide a strong foundation from which the CIO can pursue funding and investment, plan future improvements and safeguard the site for generations to come.
The agreement will not affect the current day-to-day running of the pavilion, and existing clubs, teams and users can continue to use the facilities as they do currently.
Mark Whitton, Founder and Chair of the CIO, said:
“I’m incredibly proud to see the original idea become a reality following lengthy and constructive discussions, together with the work involved in establishing the charity and securing its registration with the Charity Commission.
From the outset, the vision has been to safeguard the pavilion and playing fields while creating new opportunities to attract investment and enhance the facilities for the whole community.
I would like to thank the Parish Council for recognising the potential of the proposal and working constructively with us to reach this agreement. I’m also delighted to be joined by a dedicated team of volunteer trustees who will generously give their time and bring valuable experience and expertise as we move into this important next stage.
This agreement marks an exciting new chapter. We can now focus on working with existing users and the wider community to turn that original vision into meaningful improvements that enhance the facilities, support community activities and create lasting benefits for the whole of Heckington.”
A representative of Heckington Parish Council said:
“Heckington Parish Council is pleased that we have successfully negotiated a lease with the CIO to ensure that the Pavilion continues and is available to all parishioners into the future. We look forward to working with the CIO to enhance the Pavilion and its facilities in the years to come.”
Further details about the CIO’s plans and opportunities for the community to become involved will be shared in due course.
